Abies Sibirica (Fir Needle ) Essential Oil - rejuvenates and tingles the feet, while it deodorizes and refreshes

Achillea Millefolium (Yarrow) Herb –astringent, & known for its soothing properties. It is considered to be especially good in the care of oily skin and wound healing; this styptic herb promotes blood coagulation .

Aesculus Hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut) Seed Extract - Extract of seeds of the horse chestnut have similar properties to Horse Chestnut bark extract but contain more esculin, an antioxidant compound; It aids in reducing swelling, puffiness, toning and increasing circulation. In skin care, this extract is used to improve the skin’s barrier function, thereby helping the skin to retain and restore its lipids while soothing the epidermal layer.

Alcohol - A food-grade ethyl alcohol from grain or fruits and vegetables. Many plants are extracted in alcohol because it extracts the widest variety of constituents. Alcohol also serves as a natural emulsifier; preservative and carrier, helping ingredients penetrate the skin. Alcohol is not drying to the skin when part of a balanced skin care formulation.

Aleurites Moluccana (Kukui) Nut Oil - regenerative oil from the Hawaiian Kukui Nut, long used by native Hawaiian mothers to ease diaper rash and to protect babies from the salt water and sun. The kukui nut yields one of the lightest and most highly absorbent oils in the world.

Almond Meal: A powder obtained by pulverizing blanched almonds.

Aloe Barbadensis Extract - A succulent plant that holds water in its leaves. Helps support the moisture balance of the skin and has skin-soothing properties. Excellent for hydrating, softening and it is believed to have healing properties, especially for sunburned skin.

Aniba Rosaedora (Rosewood) Essential Oil - lifts the spirits , has a balancing action effect on the mind and body. It is useful for dull, dry and oily skin, while having cell stimulant and tissue regenerating & rejuvenating action on the skin.

Anthemis Nobilis (Roman Chamomile) Essential Oil - uses range from antidepressant to emollient to bactericidal, Chamomile has very low toxicity, so it often used in children's personal care products.

Arnica Montana (Arnica) Extract - Arnica promotes your body's healing process by regulating circulation in the connective tissue, dispersing trapped fluids. Arnica temporarily relieves pain and swelling associated with bumps, bruises, sprains and general muscular discomfort. In skin care, it reduces puffiness, inflammation and redness.

Ascophyllum Nodosum (Kelp) Powder - High in silicon & hylauranic acid. Believed to keep skin from wrinkling and sagging, increases blood circulation, purifies skin of toxins and exfoliates dead skin cells. It also contains the richest natural dietary minerals, trace minerals, vitamins, glyconutrients and phytochemicals including antioxidants.

Attars (such as: attar darbar (dhivdarbar), attar firdaus (jannatul firdaus) , attar katchi kali (katchi kali) , attar of jasminum grandiflorum (jasmine), liquid amber (amber) attar, attar of magnolia flowers (magnolia), attar of Nelumbo nucifera (pink lotus)) - Attars are traditional Indian perfume oils made by slow hydro distillation of flowers, roots, spices, and herbs into a base of sandalwood oil. Distillation of complex attars could take anywhere from 3 months to several years. The use of the sandalwood oil base was to act as a fixative for fragile scents that would otherwise lose their delicate floral notes too quickly. The scent of the distilled botanicals becomes one with the sandalwood, creating a unique, rich, sensual blend of notes that surprisingly gets better with age. Attars were used by royalty and were offered as gifts to the gods before they eventually became part of commercial perfumery. True attars are difficult to acquire due to the rising cost of sandalwood oil, the emergence of an infinite number of synthetic aromatic compounds and the decreasing number of skilled artisans.

Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Meal - contains a colloid that has soothing properties for the skin. Oatmeal generally enhances emulsion stability, increase viscosity and leaves a smooth feel. Often used to soothe skin and absorb excess oils.

Boswellia Carteri (Frankincense) Essential Oil – has a calming effect on the mind and helps to create inner peace, soothes while having a rejuvenating, balancing, purifying, anti-fungal and healing action on the skin.

Brassica Napus (Canola) Oil - a great emollient that is suitable for all types of skin; Its light texture and scentless character complements other skin care ingredients and essential oils, while its naturally occurring vitamin E adds to the conditioning effect. Used primarily for the texture it imparts to the butters (silky, non pore clogging, light textured moisture). In soap, it provides a great sudsing ability, balanced moisture qualities and easy rinsing texture.

Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit - an excellent emollient and emulsifier. Shea butter protects against drying, accelerates healing of superficial wounds and irritations and has a slight photo-protective action. Rich in unsaturated fatty acids antioxidant Vitamin E it it is highly stable.

Calendula Officinalis (Marigold) Extract - Calendula officinalis is renowned for its anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties. It helps to keep wounds clean and clear of pus and regulates the circulation in the skin, supporting healthy skin regeneration as it reduces pain.

Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Extract - is rich in tannins with astringent and toning properties. Rich in antioxidants, tea is traditionally used for sore eyes, minor injuries and insect bites. Helps tone and reduce puffiness around the eyes.

Cananga Odorata (Ylang Ylang) Essential Oil - an aphrodisiac that helps with anxiety, tension, and circulation and also has a euphoric and calming effect on the nervous system.

Canarium Luzonicum (Elemi) Essential Oil - Bronchitis, catarrh, extreme coughing, dry & mature skin, scars, psoriasis, stress, wounds.

Cannabis Sativa (Hempseed) Seed Oil - Cold expressed from sterile seeds of the Cannabis plant, hemp seed oil most closely mirrors the skin's lipid profile, making it an excellent emollient and allowing for quick absorption.

Cera Alba/Flava (Beeswax) - Alberta sourced, Unbleached, pleasant-smelling wax produced by honey bees is humanely obtained and serves as an emulsifier and consistency regulator. The open structure of beeswax provides a protective yet breathable barrier against the elements , and also used for its humectant properties as it draws moisture to the skin.

Ceteryl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate (Olive Lipids) – Olive oil sourced moisturizers & emulsifiers; chemically similar to the skin’s own sebum and hypoallergenic.

Cetyl Alcohol (Coconut Fatty Alcohol) – Naturally sourced emulsifier from heavy plant oils like coconut

Cetyl Palmitate, Sorbitan Palmitate, Sorbitan Olivate (Olive Waxes) - softening, lubricating, naturally sourced olive based thickeners and stabilizers which aid in the delivery of plant based active ingredients.

Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria/German Chamomile) Extract - is healing to wounds & irritation. It is anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic. Its pro-azulenes form brilliant blue chamazulene upon steam distillation. It is markedly antiallergenic. Used in traditional medicine for eczema and skin irritation.

Cinnamomum Camphora (White Camphor) Bark Essential Oil - This cooling, highly stimulating herb is used to treat oily skin and acne, colds, flu, coughs and respiratory complaints.

Cinnamomum Cassia (Cinnamon) Essential Oil - used in skin care preparations for its spicy, warm, awakening fragrance, its soothing effects, but is also known to be good for oily skin types as this oil is quite potent. Antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties make this a great oil to use around the house in a spray.

Citric Acid - Ph adjuster derived from citrus fruits, used in production of fizzing bath gems and is a natural Alpha Hydroxy Acid , therefore a gentle exfoliator for skin.

Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Essential Oil - Astringent, antiseptic and non-irritating. Useful in the treatment of acne, brittle nails and fungal infections

Citrus Aurantium (Bitter Orange) Essential Oil - reduces puffiness and discourages dry wrinkled skin. Both the oil and the peel are used to clear blemishes and increase perspiration, thus assisting the release of toxins from dull or blemished skin

Citrus Aurantium (Petitgrain) Essential Oil - It has calming and cheering properties. Used to aid insomnia, stress and mental fatigue. Refreshing oil that helps to balance the Central Nervous System.

Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Sweet Orange) Essential Oil - reduces puffiness and discourages dry wrinkled skin; also used to stimulate circulation, clear blemishes and increase perspiration, thus assisting the release of toxins from dull or blemished skin. Uplifting, cheering and warm.

Citrus Aurantium var. Amara (Neroli) Flower Hydrosol - calms, soothes and normalizes the skin. Has a pleasant and relaxing aroma.

Citrus Bergamia (Bergamot) Essential Oil - known for its antiseptic qualities and is used to control the oil in the skin and for the treatment of acne. Uplifts the spirits and relieves anxiety, depression, SAD (Seasonal Affected Disorder) and stress-related conditions

Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract – Used for its anti-microbial characteristics; heals & inhibits fungal and bacterial infections; mild preservative action

Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon ) Peel Essential Oil - It is antiseptic, cleansing and strengthening to connective tissues. Traditionally used to reduce the appearance of cellulite and firm the skin’s elasticity, astringent and anti-irritant qualities. It’s refreshingly clean, lemony, uplifting fragrance is the perfect pick me up. It balances overactive sebaceous glands that lead to oily, blemished skin, clears and enlivens the complexion and is effective in treating brittle fingernails and in general hand care.

Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Essential Oil - Uplifting, cleansing and clearing, also stimulating to the lymphatic system and toning to the skin.

Citrus Reticulata (Tangerine) Essential Oil - used to relieve stress, nervous tension and insomnia. Topical uses include treatment for acne, oily skin, scar healing and toner.

Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil - rich in emollient fat and, when pressed, yields a white, sweetly-scented, super-moisturizing oil, which is a solid at room temperature but easily melts on the skin, helps to bind and emulsify natural formulations. It protects skin from the elements by forming a thin film, which is not absorbed. Coconut oil is useful as an after sun skin oil and is also revitalizing to dry, damaged hair. Saponified coconut oil has good cleansing properties and is known for it mildness.

Commiphora Myrrha (Myrrh) Essential Oil – a remedy for localized skin problems, heals skin rashes and irritations, revitalizing effect on dry, aging and wrinkled skin. Also has preserving, antifungal and antiseptic properties.

Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit - mildly astringent, yet soothing and can help reduce puffiness of the skin. Cucumber also has a slight bleaching action, which aids in removing dead skin cells.

Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Fruit - Pumpkin is a nutritional powerhouse containing over a hundred natural components such as high levels of Vitamins A and C, B vitamins, niacin, riboflavin, zinc, anti-oxidant beta-carotene and other cancer fighting carotenoids like lutein and zeaxanthin. It also contains enzymes as well as salicylic acid, lactic acid and ascorbic acid, which gently exfoliate flaky areas. Pumpkin decreases oxidation and free radicals in the skin, provides nutrition to the skin and stimulates healing, leaving skin glowing and healthy looking. Protects and soothes sore, rough skin and to prevent flaking. Also helps to heal weeping and oozing.

Cupressus Sempervirens (Cypress) Essential Oil - beneficial in conditions of excess fluid, such as heavy perspiration, congested skin, cellulite and fluid retention. It also has a calming and soothing effect, helps with varicose veins & hemorrhoids and eases joint & muscular pain.

Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba (Guar) Gum - A plant carbohydrate produced from the guar bean. A natural substance, which thickens and stabilizes emulsions.

Cymbopogon Martinii (Palmarosa) Essential Oil - Common oil used in cosmetics, it has a floral fragrance similar to Geranium. A good skin moisturizer, it also regulates oil production of the skin.

Cymbopogon Nardus (Citronella) Essential Oil - This oil has the same genus as lemongrass, ginger grass and palmerosa grass. Used primarily as an insect repellant the oil can also be used to clean and deodorize cooking surfaces. For example, use 5 drops of the EO and an ounce of vinegar as a wash for counter and stovetops.

Cymbopogon Schoenanthus (Lemongrass) Essential Oil - Excellent in skin preparations, for athletes foot, excessive sweat, as an insect repellant, and to tone all the tissues. It is strongly antiseptic and antibacterial.

Cymbopogon Citrates (Lemongrass, Dried): Lemongrass is one of the most popular herbs in Brazil for nervous and digestive problems. The Chinese use it to treat headaches, stomachaches, colds, and rheumatic pains. Studies show it does destroy many types of bacteria and is a deodorant.

Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract (in a base of Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil) also known as carrot tissue oil – highly nutritive and cleansing. High in antioxidant beta carotene and other flavonoids.Deeply penetrates and softens hardened, calloused skin. Helps reverse sun damage to skin.

Eleutherococcus Senticosus (Siberian Ginseng) Extract - firms, tones and tightens, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, gives the effect of smoothing and lifting the skin.

Epilobium Angustifolium (Fireweed) Extract - Derived from a plant commonly known as fireweed or willow herb which is native to forest regions across Canada. This plant is known to have anti-microbial, anti-irritant, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, and soothing properties for skin; reduces redness & prevents breakouts.

Essential Oils - These volatile, rapidly evaporating oils are obtained from the leaves, stem, flower, seed or root of a plant, and usually carry the odor characteristic of the plant. Essential oils are used in cosmetics, aromatherapy, medicine, perfumery and flavoring. They add fragrance to natural skin care products, as well as contribute to their healthful and beautifying qualities through their various abilities to tone, balance, relax, cleanse and invigorate. Although all essential oils are 'fragrant', not all 'fragrances' are essential oils. True essential oils are plant-derived.

Eucalyptus Globulus (Eucalyptus) Essential Oil -has stimulating and antiseptic properties and is valued for its respiratory power for clearing sinuses, fighting colds; and is an expectorant and cough-suppressant. It also has been used to relieve joint pain, muscular aches and the swelling of arthritis.

Foeniculum Vulgare (Fennel) Essential Oil – cleansing, toning, hormone balancing and great for intestinal colic.

Glycerin - a by-product of soap-making is an emollient, (a skin softener) and humectant (draws water to itself and holds water in creams and lotions). It is non-irritating and soothing, and can be used on even the most sensitive skin.

Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil - It contains about 60% polyunsaturated fatty acids and is a good source of Vitamin E, used frequently in soaps and bath oils. It is a superior moisturizing agent that helps soften skin and possesses insect repelling qualities.

Goat’s Milk - anti inflammatory and very mild, especially suited to people with easily irritated skin or skin troubles--gentle enough even for a baby. The natural oils are easily absorbed by your skin and help to balance moisture needs. Used in place of water in the cold process method of soap making to create a creamy, moisturizing bar.

Gossypium Herbaceum (Cotton) Seed Oil - a pale yellow, odorless liquid expressed from various varieties of cotton. It is widely used in skin care as a formula softener.

Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water - Rich in tannins that have a toning and strengthening effect on the skin's proteins, astringent

Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil – lightweight, replenishing oil, rich in essential fatty acids.

Hypericum Perforatum (St John's Wort) Oil - soothing to the skin and healing to wounds.. The active ingredient, hypericin is anti-inflammatory, nervine (calming) and antiseptic. It is soothing for skin that is extremely sensitive, irritated or allergic. Eases pain of burns and rashes.

Illite ( green clay) - natural mineral product, most effective in dissolving toxic material and heavy metal and particularly good for restoring vitality and shine in skin exhausted from urban life style.

Iron Oxides - Mineral pigments derived from iron ore, used as colourants.

Jasminum Sambac (Jasmine) Essential Oil - believed to be soothing, anti-depressant, antiseptic, emotionally balancing and an aphrodisiac. It has a rich, calming, sensual floral fragrance.

Juniperus Ashei (Cedarwood) Essential Oil - Antiseptic and astringent, this oil balances and regulates oil production .

Juniperus Communis (Juniper Berry) Essential Oil - detoxifying and helps to purify, avert nervous tension, and reduce cellulite. It also is an antiviral, antiseptic, diuretic, and can help relieve pain, the symptoms of rheumatism, and expel uric acid from the system.

Kaolinite (Clay) - excellent absorbent, tightening and toning properties, pulls toxins from skin.

Lavandula Angustifolium (Lavender) Essential Oil - excellent all-purpose skin care oil thought to have antiseptic, antibacterial and antiviral properties, as well as to promote healing and help prevent scarring. Deeply relaxing, promotes restfull sleep for many people , calms and eases tension.

Lillium Candidum (White Lily) Extract - White (Madonna) Lily calms, soothes and regenerates dry and inflamed skin. Helps skin to maintain flexibility and discourages excessive build-up of dead skin cells.

Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil - native to British Columbia, this oil is moisturizing, extremely stable, and capable of adhering and staying on the skin. It forms a moisture barrier and will assist the skin with preventing moisture loss, adds shine and moisture to the hair, and will remoisturize dry or cracked lips, nails and cuticles.

Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom) Salts - Small, white crystal resembling salt. It is used in soaks and baths to 'draw' toxic substances from the body through the skin. Aids in drawing out lactic acid build up in sore, aching muscles. Perfect for the bathtub after a good workout.

Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter - Helps consistency and stabilization of emulsions. Contains natural tocopherol (vitamin E). stays on the skin as a barrier, protecting the skin from drying out.

Matricaria Chamomilla (German/Blue Chamomile) Essential Oil - German Chamomile is known as a strong skin healer, and it works well for such skin ailments as acne, eczema, dermatitis, and more. Of the three chamomiles, German is best suited for external purposes; Chamomile has very low toxicity, so it often used in children's personal care products.

Mel (Honey) Extract - Increases the water-absorbing capacity of the skin to attract much needed moisture to rough, dry skin. Dramatically increases softness and suppleness. Besides being a strong humectant, honey has a very high content of minerals, amino acids and vitamins, which aid in keeping skin healthy. Honey contains natural antioxidants, which guard against free radical damage and encourage healthy cell turnover in the skin. Smoothes and restructures, and is long lasting in its moisturizing benefits.

Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Essential Oil - antiseptic, bactericidal, fungicidal and wound healing properties. This oil is used to treat acne, cuts, burns and insect bites.

Melissa Officinalis (Lemon Balm) Herb - A very gentle and effective herb, it is used for relieving colds, flu’s and fevers. It has also been shown to relieve restlessness, excitability and headaches as well as control the outbreaks of the cold-sore virus.

Mentha Arvensis (Cornmint) Essential Oil - known to have with cooling properties due to a naturally high content of menthol. Aids in improving respiration during colds, flu, and allergy attacks. Calms coughs.

Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Essential Oil - cooling, pain relieving and antiseptic effect in bath and facial herbs; contains menthol, known for its ability to open breathing passages and settle upset stomachs; also used to cleanse, tone and purify congested skin and pores and is great for use on acne and blackheads.

Mentha Viridis (Spearmint) Leaf Essential Oil - Its therapeutic properties resemble that of peppermint, it is a stimulant, however, spearmint’s effects are gentler and sweeter. Often used to energize the mind and body and for a refreshing effect.

Mica - A mineral that provides natural glitter and shimmer in make-up. A silica based mineral which supports the structure and formation of the connective tissue. Primarily used as a colourant.

Olea Europaea (Olive Leaf) Extract - potent natural antioxidant, anti-ageing moisturizer, and skin smoother, rich in vitamins and minerals; Absorbs and is utilized easily and readily by the skin. Prevents damage to skin from pollution, sun and free radicals.

Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil - Olive oil contains naturally occurring squalene, a component of the hydrolipid mantle. Revered olive has anti-microbial, anti-parasitic and anti-inflammatory properties . provides a creaminess to the lather of our soap base.

Onosoma Echiodes (Rattanjot) Powder – a natural black/purple colour which will not stain tubs, washcloths or towels.

Padina Pavonica (Brown Algae) - Padina Pavonica is extracted from the protective coating of a brown algae found in the Mediterranean Sea and is believed to help improve the firmness and elasticity of the skin. Has anti-ageing, pro-calcium and skin-protective benefits.

Palmaria Palmata (Dulse) Seaweed - handpicked and sun-dried in Nova Scotia; it’s high in iodine, and healing to sensitive skin¬.

Panicum Miliceum (Millet) Grain - A whole grain that is used in soap making for its massaging qualities. The little round balls massage the skin and awaken blood flow.

Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium) Essential Oil - is highly therapeutic, antiseptic and astringent and can help users relax and cope with pain. It promotes a radiant glow to skin and balances oil production.

Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Fruit Oil &/or Puree - rich, nourishing oil emollient. Contains high amounts of Vitamin E, K, A and C and essential fatty acids. Enriching to dull, dry skin yet balancing, creates a luxurious feel to soaps.

Phenetyl (Rose Aromatic) Alcohol - Paraben-free, non formaldehyde releasing, naturally sourced preservative.

Phenoxyethanol (Rose ether) – This is a safe anti-bacterial preservative, which protects formulas from microbiological activity. Paraben-free, non formaldehyde releasing. MPORTANT: After more research on phenoxyethanol, an ingreditent in our citronella lotion and face cream, we have concluded that it does not meet our definition of 100% natural. Although we view it as a much safer preservative than other preservatives on the market, we are actively testing other natural ingredients to replace it and will do so as soon as possible.

Phoenix Dactylifera (Date Palm) Extract - Date Palm aids in regenerating and re-mineralizing the skin. Rich in Vitamins A, C, B1, B5 and potassium, aids normal, mature and damaged skin types.

Pikea Robusta (Red Algae) Extract - anti-inflammatory, anti-aging and help to strengthen the skin. Helps to protect from damage caused by pollution, free radicals and stress.

Pogostemum Cablin (Patchouli) Essential Oil - Earthy, smoky, spicy , meditative and musky scent. Gives a long lasting, alluring quality to any perfume. Great in skin care as it regulates the skin’s oil production and is known as a tissue regenerator that heals rough, cracked skin.

Potassium &/or Sodium Hydroxide (Lye) - Otherwise know as caustic soda. It is a salt derived from wood ash and is one of the three components in soapmaking….oil, water, lye. It is considered a natural ingredient and produces some of the mildest soaps if used properly. It is completely consumed in the saponification reaction, and does not remain in the finished soap.

Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil - an excellent skin-softening oil used for centuries. Gentle, easily absorbed and neutral. Provides great moistuzing benefits.

Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil - Lightweight and easily absorbed oil that is high in vitamins A and E. Especially soothing for sensitive, dry or sunburned skin. Helps skin maintain a healthy moisture balance.

Pumice - a rock of volcanic origin formulated used as a natural exfoliant to help remove dead and rough skin, for a smoother, fresher surface feel.

Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Extract - contains several polyphenols and anthocyanidins (pigment that gives certain fruits their dark red colors), which are highly antioxidant, protecting hair and skin from environmental stress; has anti-inflammatory, nourishing and repairing benefits to the skin.

Ravensara (Ravensara Aromatica) Essential Oil - referred to by the people of Madagascar as "the oil that heals" because of its antiseptic activity and aid in respiratory problems. It is anti-infectious, antiviral, antibacterial, expectorant and supporting to the nerves. It has shown to help with rhinopharyngitis, flu, sinusitis, bronchitis, infectious mononucleosis, insomnia and muscle fatigue.

Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil - a superior emollient oil with healing properties. Acts as an effective ointment and moisturizes the scalp. It also gives body and shine to the hair and helps restore a natural, healthy appearance.

Rosa Canina (Rose Hip) Fruit Oil - Rose hip extract is high in vitamin C and A and has a strengthening effect on capillaries and connective tissue. Rose extracts are antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and astringent and have been used to soothe and heal irritated, chapped skin. And the oil is rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids which maintain healthy skin and repair tissue damage.

Rosa Damascena (Rose) Essential Oil - one of the most expensive and rare of essential oils. Contains many healing properties of the rose in concentrated form; it has tonifying, anti-inflammatory and anti-parasitic, soothing, gentle cleansing properties that have a softening and refining effect on the skin. It is antiseptic and mildly astringent for dry or chapped skin, helping to restore pH. Excellent for use on all skin types.
