When we created our Antibacterial Kitchen Hand Wash, we wanted to give you the strongest natural soap for tackling messy food prep with a fresh scent (bye bye, garlicky fingers!) with a creamy liquid soap base to keep your hands soft and moisturized with frequent washing while also cutting through heavy grease—like the dreaded grease from your bike chain. To make a naturally antibacterial soap, we enlisted the help of our not-so-secret weapon: Lactic Acid.

We use Lactic Acid made from fermented sugars in molasses. Basically, the Lactic Acid changes the pH of your skin slightly enough that after washing bacteria doesn’t want to grow there. While we’re talking about clean hands, it’s worth noting that all of our soaps — bar or liquid — are all natural and will remove germs (that includes bacteria and viruses) with proper handwashing. If you’re curious to learn more, dive deep with our FAQ.

The creamy soap base is made from Olive and Coconut Oils that create a rich lather and work to keep your hands soft and moisturized with frequent washing. Glycerin is a humectant that attracts moisture to your skin. Then there’s organic Jojoba Oil, that nourishes your skin since it closely resembles your skin’s natural oils.

Ooh that smell! Can’t you smell that smell? It’s the smell of refreshing Rosemary, Mint, Lavender and Eucalyptus. Each of these essential oils work to not only uplift your senses but are all traditionally known for their aromatherapeutic or antibacterial properties:

  • Peppermint invigorates the senses
  • Lavender and Rosemary have antibacterial, antifungal, antimicrobial and antiseptic properties
  • Eucalyptus Oil cools and deodorizes

We love this one-of-a-kind soap, but we’re a bit biased… here’s a taste of what some of you think. You can read more reviews here.

“SOOTHING SOAP I bought this product in the fall of 2019 as I am obsessive about washing my hands and as a result they are always dry and tender. This really is the one soap that I have tried and found to keep my hands moisturized through the 30 plus times a day I wash. Thank you so much for your brilliance and innovation to make a product to help those of us who obsessively wash and need the extra boost through soap to keep our hands moist and soft.”

What a really wonderful experience. My sister-in-law had this hand wash in her kitchen when I visited her in Calgary from Scotland. I washed my hands far too many times just to inhale this scent! I got back to Scotland and couldn't resist ordering for myself!"

Hi @MARIANNE, we’re so glad you love the soap. There aren’t any current plans to make a foaming wash, but we’re always innovating, so you never know! Thank you for the feedback.

I absolutely love this soap but would be even happier if it came in a foaming variety. Do you have any plans to make that?

Thank you for this explanation of how the Antibacterial Kitchen Soap is made and works. I have been using it since it came out and love it. I used just use dish soap when I washed my hands in the kitchen but my skin would get so dried out and sometimes crack.

I was telling a friend about it and as soon as I said “antibacterial” she didn’t want to try it. I tried to tell her it wasn’t like the other “antibacterial soaps” but I could not explain how it was different. So thank you for the explanation and now I can tell her.

I just received my antibacterial hand soap. I was do touched by the note telling me to stay safe.

So I tried the soap and you were right it doesn’t dry my hands out. I love the smell and the 3 bottles will last me hopefully untill this health crisis is over.

Thank you so much.
