Week 5 challenge: Aluminum Compounds - You might be swiping your armpits with the same stuff that goes into making pots and pans.Aluminum Compounds are a common active ingredient in conventional deodorants that work by blocking sweat glands to keep the pores from perspiring.   Week 4 challenge: SLS - Easy to hunt for. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is a common ingredient in many soap-type products for its ability to produce a rich lather. But there are a few reasons to question whether or not the lather is worth it.   Week 3 Challenge: Tricolsan - an extremely powerful antibacterial agent and preservative used in soaps and hand sanitizers. Classified as a pesticide by the FDA and a probable carcinogen.  Week 2 Challenge: Fragrance - 'fragrance, 'parfum' or 'perfume' is a catch-all term companies use to protect a proprietary blend. problem is they may contain phthalates or other undesirable ingredients.   Week 1 Challenge: Oxybenzone - found in chemical sunscreens. Known to disrupt normal hormone production and dangerous to coral reefs.
