Oh, Canada. This country is filled with so much natural beauty it can be overwhelming at times. If you’re like us and feel a deep connection to all that natural wonder, you probably also feel the need to protect it, like a great big momma bear. That’s exactly what one of our 2019-2020 Community Bar partners, Nature Conservancy of Canada, does everyday, and we’re so happy to be able to support their mission.

We tagged along to a stretch of land in the Castle Crowsnest Watershed area that NCC owns and maintains called the Fleming Ranch property. It’s home to the Jim Prentice Wildlife Corridor, and when you buy a Community Bar this year, a portion of funds goes to helping this land thrive. Learn more below:

NCC’s Vision and Mission

Nature Conservancy Canada’s vision is a world in which Canadians conserve nature in all its diversity, and safeguard the lands and waters that sustain life. Their mission is to inspire others to join them in creating a legacy for future generations by conserving important natural areas and biological diversity across all regions of Canada.

What They Do

NCC lives this by helping conserve land all across Canada. On the ground, conservation science professionals identify, plan and execute plans to protect that mother nature we love so much. NCC is the nation's leading private, not-for-profit land conservation organization, protecting vital natural areas and the species they sustain. Since 1962, NCC has helped protect more than 14 million hectares (35 million acres), coast to coast. In Alberta, NCC has conserved more than 451,000 hectares (1,100,000 acres) of this province’s most ecologically significant land and water. Learn more about NCC and their conservation projects.
