headerWe’re looking for volunteers for our annual Rocky Mountain Soap Company Women’s Run in Canmore! Since we launched the run in 2008 we’ve had more and more women sign up and join in the fun.  It takes a lot of hands to make the run go smoothly, so if you’d enjoy a day or two in the sun at an event where there are a lot of happy ladies and the air smells like soap, then please contact Marion Worm at marion@magmaem.com.

There will be some fun goodies for volunteers as well as a nutritious lunch.  It’s a two day event this year over the weekend of May 15 and 16.

I’ll see you there!

sugar-salt-lOur new scrubs have been out for two weeks now, and wow have we ever gotten some love from you guys about them!  Here’s one of my favorites:

Just tried the new sugar scrubs and they are so fantastic! I purchased the lavender and the bamboo kind, but I may need to stop by to pick up the orange one as well!  Stellar job on the R&D side – its not too greasy and the grains don’t hurt while scrubbing. The smells are to die for! They are so indulgent, I can hardly wait for my next shower!

Wow, thanks!  We’re so glad you love them!

I’ve had a few people ask what the difference is between a sugar scrub (like our Lavender or Blood Orange scrubs) and a salt scrub (like our Bamboo).

Salt is great for softening both the water and your skin and provides a more vigorous scrub.  Sugar, while gentler than salt also has some benefit because the AHA’s it contains are great for revealing fresh dewy skin and making it glow.  Sugar also won’t sting if you’re clutzy with your razor (ahem).

That said…it really boils down to what you prefer.  I tend to use the the sugar scrubs on almost a daily basis to keep my skin from drying out, but I use the Bamboo scrub (which contains salt) when I need a good strong exfoliation, usually once a week or so.

I’d love to hear which one you prefer, so far the numbers are telling us it’s neck and neck!

New 100% Natural Body Scrubs!

scrubsmallWe have new body scrubs!  Personally, I’m very excited about these products because I’m lazy.  What d’ya mean I have to lather, rinse, scrub, rinse, shave, rinse, dry, and moisturize before I can escape the bathroom?  With this new scrub I have discovered that I can just…scrub.  Well ok, it doesn’t shave for me, but it does make me clean, scale-free and soft. I don’t even need to think about moisturizing after.  Although if I did moisturize on top of the luscious scrub oils then I would probably be able to squeeze through the cat-door.

If your skin isn’t naturally smooth, and you’re prone to dryness (hello Alberta) then I highly recommend you try one of these.

For those who like relaxing and floral scents we have the Organic Sugar Scrub with French Lavender. My personal favorite is the fruity and sweet Organic Sugar Scrub with Blood Orange. And for those of you who like a fresh and uplifting I’d recommend the Bamboo Body Scrub, its contains salt and finely milled bamboo and smells like a blend of mint and grapefruit.  Lurvely.

Don’t be shy, we’d love to know what you think!  Write to info@rockymountainsoap.com and let us know if you think we nailed scrub-land.

PS – for a limited time you can buy one get one 50% off.
