We often don't think about it, but skin is our body's largest organ. It wraps our whole body, protecting us from the harsh effects of the sun, wind, pollution and the many environmental contaminants. So it's important we take good care of it. Over time, the skin on our face and body can take quite a beating from the elements, leaving it looking dull, dry and flaky. There's an easy way to rejuvenate our skin -- exfoliate it!

What's Exfoliation?

Exfoliation is a process that removes dead skin cells from the upper layer of the skin, revealing the healthy skin beneath. Our skin can shed 30,000 to 40,000 dead cells per minute naturally; but most of us (particularly those of us in our 30's or older) need to manually exfoliate our skin to keep it looking radiant. As the weather gets colder and the humidity levels drop, exfoliation becomes even more important. Cells have a greater tendency to dry out during the winter months and accumulate on the skin's surface leaving us with a dull, ashen complexion. That means the time is now!
