Your FAQs About Our Shea Butter Soap

Here at Rocky, after much question-asking and option-evaluating, we’ve made the switch to shea butter in our bar soaps.

We believe in wholesome, natural ingredients and our search for the best brought us back to our social responsibility values and desire to create an even better quality product for our customers.

Why did you change the bar soap recipe?
We’re continually innovating at Rocky and want to bring you the best products possible. Shea butter itself has amazing benefits for the skin and allowed us to cut down our curing time, so it checked off all the boxes. The decision to switch our whole line of soap became a no-brainer.

What ingredients did you change from the old to new soap?
We’ve switched up the base ingredients in our soap recipe from a blend of vegetable oils (coconut, canola, cottonseed and olive) to a blend of vegetable and nut oils (shea butter, coconut, sunflower and olive). All the essential oils, botanicals and other lovely ingredients in our soap remain the same.

I have a nut allergy, can I still use the new soap?
Yes! There are no reports of allergic reactions from using shea butter topically because it doesn’t contain allergen binding proteins. This means that even if you have a nut allergy you can still enjoy using our soap.

Will the new soaps work and feel the same on my skin?
Our new soap feels luxurious on the skin and cleanses just as effectively. The added shea butter has amazing hydrating and protective properties so your skin is in for a treat. We might be a little biased but we think our soap is even better than before.

Do the new soaps smell the same?
They sure do! Some of the colours show up brighter than before too. So you can still wake up to the fresh smell of Juicy Orange, or wash away the day with the soothing scent of the Lavender soap that you know and love.

Why is the new soap more expensive?
We have the best soap available in Canada but our price did not reflect that. We decided to increase the price slightly to align with market conditions. You still get a lot of bang for your buck with our bar soap and the shea butter makes it feel even more luxurious on the skin.

Can I still get the old soap?
Sadly, no. We’re committed to our new shea butter base and no longer have the ingredients for our old soap recipe. All your favourites are still here though and we think you’ll love the shea butter soap just as much as we do.
