As you may have noticed, some of our bar soaps have been out of stock for a short while. Over the last two months, we’ve been impacted by challenges surrounding our cold-process soap making and ultimately, we were unhappy with the outcome of the bars — specifically the colours and scents.
We've been rigorously testing our batches to understand why the colours and scents of the bars were being impacted. We’re happy to say that we have isolated the issue and are able to hand-make our bar soaps again. What caused the issue? We changed an element in the heating tank and that element caused the oils and colours to change during the curing process.
To give some background, our bar soaps are made in small batches by hand, then cut and cured for four to six weeks before being made available for sale. If a batch doesn’t meet our highest standards, it is rejected. If a batch does get rejected, it means there’s a slow turnaround to recover and restock our bar soap compared to other products.
The natural soapmaking process is our passion, and we take great pride in the centuries-old tradition that we use because it ensures that we’re crafting only the best quality bar soaps. We apologize for the delay in getting your favourites to the shelves, but welcome you to try our in-stock liquid and foaming soaps — which come in a variety of scents. Alternatively, you can sign-up to receive an email when your favourite soap is back in stock, just find the product page of your favourite soap here on the website and click on 'notify me when this product is available'.
Thank you for your continued loyalty; you are the reason we do what we do.
