Glyceryl Stearate Citrate is filled with emollients that make your skin feel smooth and soft. It helps your skin and hair retain moisture. It is also an emulsifier that we use in our Day Cream, Sunscreen and Night Cream to keep everything together and feeling good on your skin.
This ingredient is made from a combination of Glycerin (vegetable oil such as corn oil or coconut oil), Stearic Acid (vegetable oil) and citric acid (what you get in oranges and other citrus). These ingredients come together through a natural process called esterification, which in simple terms is a reaction between fats and acids.
When this esterification occurs, the ingredients become great emollients and emulsifiers.
