US Price Increase and Tariff FAQ

Rocky remains committed to keeping your shopping experience as smooth as possible while adapting to tariff and duty changes that may affect United States–bound orders. Effective August 29, 2025, Rocky will move to Delivered Duty Paid labels on all U.S.- bound shipments. For now, this means that any applicable duties are paid by Rocky, so there are no surprises at delivery. We are still unclear what, if any, the charges will be, however Rocky will assume the costs until further notice.

Can I order Rocky products and have them shipped to the United States? 

Yes, customers can currently place orders on our website for delivery to the United States. Rocky’s shipping carrier to the U.S. is FedEx. Please note that we are no longer able to ship to U.S. P.O. boxes due to changing requirements. While we are accepting non-PO Box U.S. orders at the moment, shipping policies may change in the future as we respond to evolving circumstances. 

 

Does the existing $800 exemption from duties still apply? 

As of August 29, 2025, the $800 de minimis exemption will be removed. This means duties may apply to all U.S. bound orders regardless of value.

To keep things simple, Rocky is using Delivered Duty Paid labels on all U.S.-bound orders. This means Rocky covers duties on your behalf. Since it’s still unclear what, if any, charges may apply, we’ll keep you updated if anything changes. 

 

Does the announcement of United States tariffs impact my Rocky shipment to the United States? 

Yes. With the removal of the de minimis exemption, duties may apply to U.S. orders of any value. However, Rocky has moved to a Delivered Duty Paid label model—so there will be no surprises when your order arrives.

 

Will my order take longer to arrive in the United States?

Your United States–bound order will ship from Canada within 1–2 business days, andyou’ll receive a FedEx tracking number once it’s on the way. Please note that some orders may experience delays at the border. While these delays are outside of our control, we recommend keeping an eye on your tracking information through the FedEx website.

Where do your orders ship from? 

All orders are shipped from our workshop in Canmore, AB, Canada. If your shipment is United States-bound, it will cross the U.S. border. Rocky’s shipping carrier to the United States is FedEx.

 

Will shipping costs increase due to the tariffs? 

Rocky continues to offer free shipping on orders over $50 in Canada and the United States.

However, due to the removal of the de minimis exemption, duties may apply to all U.S. orders. For now, these duties will be paid by Rocky.

 

Will I still qualify for free shipping or will the minimum amount increase? 

Rocky is pleased to continue offering free shipping on orders over $50 in both Canada and the United States.

 

Will shipping to the United States from a Rocky retail store located in Canada be impacted by tariffs?   

Yes, United States-bound orders placed in our retail stores will also have access to Delivered Duty Paid labels. This means duties will be paid by Rocky, so you will not be billed separately upon delivery.

 

Will shipments within Canada be affected?  

No. Shipments within Canada remain unaffected.

 

Does the announcement of United States tariffs impact Canadian-bound orders? 

No. The tariffs and duty changes do not impact Canadian orders.

 

Are Canadian-made products exempt from these tariffs?  

No. Canadian-made products shipped to the United States may be subject to duties and tariffs under the new rules.

 

Will Rocky cover the costs of duties or will the customer need to pay them to receive their order? 

Customers will no longer need to pay duties separately upon delivery.  For now, any duties applicable to your United States–bound order will be paid by Rocky, ensuring a seamless delivery without extra border fees from FedEx.Please note that this may change in the future. We will continue to update you and this page if new information becomes available. 

 

Are any products at risk of going out of stock because of the tariffs? 

Rocky’s priority is to ensure natural, high-quality ingredients in our products, and we use a network of global partners to fulfill this. Some third-party products are no longer available for the U.S. market due to tariffs, but we continue to offer products produced by Rocky. We remain committed to minimizing disruption and keeping our Rocky-made products available. 

 

Are the tariffs affecting all products or just specific ones? 

The recently announced tariffs may have an impact, but details are still emergingAt this time, some third-party accessory products are no longer available in the U.S. market. We're committed to keeping you informed as we learn more. 

 

Is Rocky a Canadian Company?   

Yes, Rocky is a Canadian company – owned and operated.  Rocky is owned by Karina Birch and Cam Baty who live in Canmore, AB. They purchased Rocky in 2000 from another Canmore local and have been growing the business since.  All products are formulated and manufactured by the Rocky Team in the Workshop located in Canmore, AB.  Rocky employs over 225 people across Canada and has 13 retail stores. 

 

Are Rocky products made in Canada?  

Yes, all Rocky products are formulated and manufactured in Canada, specifically in Canmore, AB.

 

Does Rocky source everything in Canada? For example, ingredients, packaging?   

No, not all of Rocky’s ingredients or packaging is sourced in Canada. Our priority is to source locally. When this is not possible, we work with global partners, including partners in the United States.  

Are Rocky products ‘Made in Canada’?  

Yes, Rocky is ‘Made in Canada.’ To be ‘Made in Canada’ products must:  

  • Have the last substantial transformation of goods occurring in Canada  
  • And at least 51% of the total direct costs to produce or manufacture must have been incurred in Canada   

Are Rocky products considered to be ‘100% Made in Canada’?  

No, we cannot say we are ‘100% Made in Canada’ as we do work with global partners to source some of our ingredients and packaging.  100% Made in Canada means that ALL of the ingredients, processing and labour uses to make it is all located in Canada.   


Are Rocky products considered a ‘Product of Canada’?  

No, we cannot say that Rocky is a ‘Product of Canada’ because to be a ‘Product of Canada’ at least 98% of the total direct costs of producing or manufacturing must be incurred in Canada. We work with global partners to source some of our ingredients and packaging.   

What ingredients does Rocky source globally or from the United States?  

Our ingredient sources are constantly changing as we purchase based on quality and availability.
