Turmeric

Turmeric has been used for thousands of years in Asia as part of Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese medicine. A member of the ginger root family, Turmeric is well known for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antifungal properties.

Many people attribute a lot of turmerics benefits to curcumin (a component in turmeric) but there are over 100 components that have been isolated from turmeric and found to also have similar properties.

As is true with many things found in nature, the whole is better than its parts.
