A Turmeric Latte, also known as Golden Milk, has a long history. Golden Milk originated in India, known as haldi doodh.
An anti-inflammatory powerhouse, Turmeric is known for its health benefits. Here are just a few reasons you should considering getting Turmeric into your diet:
There are many variations of this blend that you can try for yourself. Going as simple as turmeric and your choice of warm milk works, but we like to spice things up.
For the milk:
• 1 cup non-dairy or dairy milk, we like Coconut
• 1 tsp Raw Organic Coconut Oil
• ¼ tsp Turmeric Paste
• Honey to taste
For the Turmeric paste:
• ¼ cup Turmeric Powder, or 1” piece of Turmeric, finely grated
• ½ tsp ground Black Pepper
• ½ cup filtered water
• 1/8 tsp powdered Ginger
Combine all ingredients except the honey in a small pot. Simmer on medium heat, and stir until blended. Remove from heat and add honey to taste. Add foamed milk and a sprinkle of Cinnamon on top if desired.
