Rocky in-store experience — by location
All of our retail locations are now open to serve you with the great advice, conversation and natural goodness you've grown to love. See you soon!
We’ve got news (and sudsy sinks)!
There’s something bright ahead. It’s hard to believe that almost two months ago we moved to an online-only business, temporarily. In the meantime we’ve been working hard to make sure you get all the natural soap and hand sanitizer to keep your family healthy (with a little self care on the side). Thank you for being there with us.
But now the time has come—you’ll be seeing our retail locations open again. We can’t wait to see you in store and provide the same Rocky advice you love, from a safe distance. As you can imagine things are evolving quickly, so we wanted to share what we know. Here are our tentative (except for Winnipeg Polo Park, which is now open) store opening dates. You can also follow us on Facebook or Instagram for the latest updates.
See you soon!
A message from co-owner and CEO Karina as we work hard to get your orders to you. Thank you for your patience!
Hello Everyone,
A lot has happened in three weeks. We temporarily closed Rocky Mountain Soap stores with no clear timeline on when they may re-open.
There are three things we are focused on until the stores are up and running again. Supporting Rocky employees and our communities, financial sustainability and creating customer value through a great online experience.
It is a stressful time for all Rocky employees. We are offering financial support in addition to government programs to Rocky team members who are on temporary layoff. We are caring for our workshop teams by putting in place strict safety and sanitation measures and limiting shifts to less than 15 people. We are learning how to build connection and culture online by hosting listening circles, bingo and morning coffee virtually. In light of all of this we realize it is going to be a long road towards a new normal and we will to continue to support in creative ways the health and wellness of our teams.
Two weeks ago, we established a Community Action Team, tasked with supporting broader community needs by donating products and services. We have a responsibility to give and we want to be proud of our role in this crisis. In just one week, we donated 400 bottles of hand sanitizer and over 500 bars of soap to women’s shelters, the medical community and public facing businesses. This is just a start.
For our customers, we launched in record time our Nomad Hand Sanitizer. In what would normally take 6-12 months we accomplished in 2 weeks. We took a formula we had developed last year and were able to scale, package and get approval by Health Canada. Ingredients and packaging are arriving daily and we are setting up new processes to be able to meet demand. We have also taken some of our retail teams and added them to customer service and shipping so we can continue to offer exceptional experiences at this time. Our team is also working hard to create content that inspires and connects you to nature by sharing our mountain culture with you virtually.
There is not much rest for us at the moment, we will do whatever it takes to get our people through this time, keep the business alive and make our customers happy.
Thanks for being there with us through it all, stay safe and healthy.
Karina + Cam
We’re all in this together. Karina, our CEO, gives you a glimpse into what’s going on at Rocky the last 10 unprecedented days and how we’re taking care of our staff and the community at this time.
To our Rocky Community
Like you, we’ve never had to face circumstances like these before. To keep our staff and customers safe, we’re temporarily closing all of our retail locations across Canada as of Wednesday, March 18th (with the exception of our Toronto location which closed today). We’ll reassess the situation two weeks from now. Our team members are here to support you and are working extended hours if you need help while shopping online or just have questions about our products.
Now’s the time to remember the importance of self-care (and hand washing, of course). We all want happy, healthy families. If you don’t have any self-care rituals already, you can start now by getting more sleep, healthy foods, and practicing meditation and breathing exercises. Although events are cancelled, the outdoors aren’t. Parks, trails, and long walks along the river are there for you and your family (plus, connecting to nature has proven health benefits).
If you have any questions we’re here for you. Stay healthy, share a smile and take care of one another.

To our Rocky Community
I know you’ve been receiving a lot of these emails. This is a trying time for everyone, and we haven’t had to tackle a situation like this before. What we know for sure is that we want to do the best we can to keep everyone safe and healthy, which has always been at the heart of what we do here at Rocky. We’re still hard at work making soap, but were taking extra measures to protect our team and you safe in response to the COVID-19 virus:
Our in-store sinks have always been and continue to be there for you if you want to come in and just wash your hands. We’ll be pausing our in-store hand treatments for the time being (we’re sure you understand). You can still shop online, as always.
We’ve been getting questions about the different types of soap we have, so we created an FAQ about its effectiveness in keeping your hands clean and healthy.
As always, we want to thank you for your trust. We hope you’re keeping safe.

I have been a customer of Rocky Mountain Soap for a decade and a half or more. I have never regretted that. As we move more deeply into this pandemic, the more I appreciate Karina and her staff. What a truly wonderful world we would live in were all businesses be run this way!!! Thank you!!!

@LESLIE Thanks for your feedback! In our video from Karina you’ll hear about how she and Cam, co-owners, have taken 45% salary cuts and put that in a pool to support staff who may be struggling at this time. There are more details in the video.
@SHEILA, @LAWRENCE thank you so much!

It would be nice if you could tell us what measures if any you have done to help your staff during the closure so they can pay their bills. Closing is fine but sometimes I feel it helps the company more than the people that allow a company to be successful.

Our hearts are with all of you during these trying times. Thank you for taking the best care of your employees that you possibly can. Everyone be well. Sheila

What an excellent the way that you are leading your business during this challenging time. It’s great to see your kindness & sacrifice towards employees… 👍
This situation will pass but in the meantime it is great to see businesses led by people like yourselves… great example
Have an excellent weekend

I think your policy of 1 bottle of hand sanitizer is fantastic! This eliminates people who would order 1bottle of sanitizer every day of the week regardless of other people’s needs. To those who complain, try ordering a couple of other products and your shipping will be waived😉
